Colorado – Day 4

Pickleball

Inspired by the ping-pong restaurant, today Andrew and I went to a Pickle Ball Bar & Grill! To be honest, up until now, this trip had not been going well. Our expectations was that we would be in the mountains finding new trails each day. However, this was just not realistic given the location of our lodging and the fact that we had no car. Fortunately, it was very easy to make do with what we had and we had a blast at pickle ball!

It was both of our first times playing, so we played for around an hour together. Then we met these two older gentlemen and they taught us how to actually play through a game of doubles. Thanks Aaron and Branch (foreshadowing?)! We also made friends with the owner and he let us play for free. Very kind people, we will definitely be looking out for pickle ball leagues in the future.

Family Reunion!

After pickle ball, we rushed back to the hotel to shower, as we had very special guests to meet. At 3pm, we went to a nearby Vietnamese bakery and Andrew and I got to meet up with Branch and his family! We had a lovely time talking and catching up. We talked to Heidi about what it was like in the Philippines. We asked Nico and Clifford how baseball and school was going, and Branch was sharing stories about his life growing up on a farm.

Us at Red Rocks, wooo!

Afterwards, Andrew and I got dressed up and went to Red Rocks to see one of our favorite artists preform! It was Girl in Red, and she was great. It was even neater because as she was preforming it was storming so there was lighting striking down behind her on stage. It was a very memorable time, and she was an amazing performer.

Lightning in top right!!
